2017 - The Year of the Sherbourne

The lost, and somewhat forgotten, River Sherbourne in Coventry had a revival in 2017. A group of local organisations who cherish the river and who know it well poolied their resources to lay on some engaging events for people to come and learn more about this hidden gem.

The Sherbourne Partnership (made up of 11 different organisations) has been keen to sing and dance (quite literally) about the river for a number of years and with 2017 seeing two major projects getting underway along the river (at both the Burges and Charterhouse), it seemed the right time to do just that.

Here's some of the aactivities which took place in 2017:

FREE Guided walk of the route of River Sherbourne through the city centre – pointing out key features of historical and cultural interest. Meet point: Ikea Coventry main entrance, ending at Fargo Village. Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.
