Bishops Itchington Yellow Land Natural Heritage Project

The Yellow Land Natural Heritage Project developed an overgrown, neglected greenspace in Bishop's Itchington into a small, accessible community site, engaging local people in their local natural heritage.

The project transformed an overgrown and neglected area of an old limestone quarry into a community green-space and nature reserve. In the past, the quarry was the main source of employment for people in the nearby village of Bishop's Itchington. Now, local people helped to design and implement changes to the site, which is now of benefit to the whole village.
