The Tame Valley Wetlands is a landscape partnership scheme, led by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and a partnership of local and national organisations. This is a superb Marketing Apprenticeship opportunity, to raise awareness of the Tame Valley Wetlands Scheme, the Partnership and the landscape, and to increase participation in events and activities and support campaigns and fundraising.

This is a diverse role, working with partner organisations and local groups to promote the Tame Valley Wetlands as a destination, and promoting sites of interest, events and work taking place across the area. As an apprentice you'll support the team in a variety of marketing activitiesÍž researching and writing publications, updating our website, blogs and social media channels, producing press releases and articles for various media, and supporting marketing and fundraising campaigns.

The invaluable experience you'll gain from this role will enable you to complete the apprenticeship qualification in Marketing (at intermediate or advanced level, depending on your initial capabilities) and will be the perfect springboard for your career in marketing, promotion and media.

Key requirements

No previous work experience is necessary, and training and support will be provided to help you settle into full time employment. However, any experience of creative writing and/ or producing promotional material will come in handy!

Skills/ attributes you will require are good communication, the ability to use computers and software such as Microsoft Office, a good knowledge of social media, good organisational and time management skills, the ability to work in a team, and an interest in the environment, wildlife and/ or heritage. Another important requirement is that you can travel to the Hams Hall Distribution Park nr Coleshill, North Warwickshire, where this job will be based. Travel to work is not something that we can support you with, so please consider how you will get to work each day before applying. A full UK driving licence and your own car is ideal.

Additional Information

This apprenticeship is in joint partnership between Warwickshire Wildlife Trust (as lead partner on the Tame Valley Wetlands Scheme) and Warwickshire County Council funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The role will primarily be working with the Tame Valley Wetlands team, but you will also be able to take advantage of the Council's development and training opportunities and be part of the overall WCC cohort of apprentices.

The Training Provider for this apprenticeship is Heart of England Training.

Please note: Apprenticeships are NOT open to applicants who already have a degree / HND / HNC or other qualifications at level 4 or above.


  • Point 1 = £3.87 an hour, £135.45 a week, £7,043.40 a year all new starters for the first 12 months
  • Point 2 = £5.30 an hour, £185.50 a week, £9,646.00 a year completed 12 months and aged 19/20
  • Point 3 = £6.70 an hour, £234.50 a week, £12,194.00 a year completed 12 months and aged 21+

Hours: 35 hours / week 
Contract: 18 months from start date (fixed term)
Location: Hams Hall Environmental Centre, Near Coleshill, North Warwickshire.
