An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead and develop the Trust’s community engagement work by encouraging and nurturing the involvement of people, local communities and organisations with their local wildlife and within local greenspaces.

The Role

The post holder will take responsibility for developing the Trust’s community engagement strategy and embark on a number of schemes to widen the existing scope of our work. Building sustainable relationships with key groups, organisations and stakeholders is important to deliver our objectives and working alongside these groups to develop projects and seek out opportunity.

The post holder will seek opportunities to support our reserves management obligations through developing corporate relationships and assisting in building local volunteer work parties. Further responsibilities include delivering talks and events, inspiring and training volunteers to increase participation and work with community groups to nurture and support community programmes off reserves. A critical part of the role will be to secure external funding to support community engagement projects.

The post holder will be required to collect data and consultation feedback to help support funding bids and develop projects as part of the role. The post holder will also support the wider work of the Trust and develop innovative ideas and schemes that build the role.

The Candidate

We are seeking a talented and ambitious individual who will help us spread the message of our work, engage with local communities and organisations, ensuring we provide positive opportunity for people to connect with their local wildlife. The post holder will also play a key role in helping us to achieve our vision for a living landscape in Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull.

We are situated at the heart of England, in a beautiful part of the country with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who work hard to deliver the Trust’s aspirations. As part of the Trust’s Reserves and Community Engagement team you will have proven experience and the ability to contribute to change and make exciting things happen.

We are looking for a high achiever with excellent people skills, a strong understanding of community engagement delivery and proven achievements in project management and securing funding. Being able to demonstrate a high level of innovation and enthusiasm to support and inspire others to get involved in our work is essential.

With experience of practical conservation delivery, the successful candidate will have a solid background in managing and delivering community engagement projects, delivering events, writing funding bids and developing and securing sustainable partnerships and importantly will be able to demonstrate their ability and passion for people and wildlife.

We believe this is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a real and lasting contribution: if this is you, we would love to hear from you. In return we can offer a great place to work in a supportive and friendly environment.
