Welcome to our magazine archive page. We celebrated the 150th edition of our members magazine in 2015 so we decided to take a look back at some of the key issues.

There are many familiar names mentioned in these past editions, dedicated volunteers with a lifetime of knowledge and experience in wildlife conservation in our region.

Issue 01

Issue Number 1 titled 'The Warwickshire Branch of the West Midlands Trust for Nature Conservation' was published in June 1969 and was edited by Mrs Tindall. We are currently trying to locate a copy of this and as soon as we do, it will be posted here!.

Issue 25

Summer 1977 saw the 25th Edition within which Colin Birt was announced as Warnact’s new President and news that Harbury Spoilbank had been officially opened on 14th May. Sightings included Nightingale and Lesser Whitethroat. You could join as a member of the Trust for just £2.00.

Issue 50

The 50th Edition (September 1984) cover story highlighted the plight of Shelly Green / Monkspath Meadow which in January 1983 was 6ha in size. One year later, only 0.91ha remained of this valuable site remained intact.

Issue 100

Published in November 1998 contains a familiar story. The Ministry of Agriculture decided to implement a Badger cull following
Prof. Krebs recommendations in an attempt to control bovine Tuberculosis.
