Solihull

  • Warwickshire Wildlife Trust is launching a new hedgehog conservation area in Rugby. This follows the debut Hedgehog Improvement Area (HIA) set-up in Solihull over one year ago. The initiative is being funded by the British Hedgehog Preservation Society (BHPS) to address a continuing national decline in hedgehog numbers. Local people and businesses will be encouraged to take part in mapping, monitoring and helping to conserve our much-loved spiny mammal.

  • It’s Wild About Gardens Week during half-term (26 October – 1 November 2015) which this year will focus on gardening for hedgehogs.

  • 7th - 13th September is Remember a Charity Week, which highlights the lasting difference that is made when a legacy is left to a person's favourite charity in their Will.

  • Belgrade Theatre Unplugged Returns for 2015, and performs at the Parkridge Centre, Solihull

  • A landmark project launched today by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust has selected Solihull as the location for the UK’s first dedicated hedgehog conservation area, called the Hedgehog Improvement Area (HIA). Thanks to funding from the British Hedgehog Preservation Society (BHPS) the initiative has been developed in response to an alarming national decline in hedgehog numbers. The HIA aims to bolster the region’s hedgehog population, inspiring local people and organisations to take action to help one of the country’s most enigmatic and well-loved species.
