Nature needs your vote
The UK is one of the world’s most nature-depleted countries, and in Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull, things are getting worse. Can you use your vote to stand up for nature in the next general election?
We've compiled some resources to help you question your candidates before the election, make an informed decision at the ballot box, and hold your MP to account once they're in office.
Why is it important to stand up for wildlife?
Time is running out for nature, and the next government will play a key part in curbing the declining trend for wildlife. That is why we urgently need a government that puts nature at the top of their agenda.
- There was a 157% increase in sewage overflow hours in Coventry and Solihull from 2020 to 2023.
- 1 in 3 people in the UK have no access to green spaces near their home. People with nature on their doorstep are more active, mentally resilient and have better all-round health.
- 74% of Warwickshire land is managed for farming, and government policy is essential to help our farmers manage their land for nature and climate.Â
