Your Wildlife Engagement Officer (Dunsmore)

Can you encourage and support people, local communities and organisations with their local wildlife and within local greenspaces?

We are seeking a committed individual with a strong background in community engagement to deliver the Dunsmore Living Landscape (DLL) scheme activity plan.

With main funding of over £1 million raised by The National Lottery and awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the DLL scheme aims to restore the most significant area of ancient woodland in Warwickshire, increase landscape connectivity through the restoration of hedgerows, grasslands, ponds and heritage sites and engage local communities in a programme of natural heritage-related activities.

Could you deliver a range of community engagement projects for the scheme and seek challenging new opportunities to develop our community work? You'd be a key part of the Dunsmore Living Landscape team working to deliver landscape-scale enhancements.

Your role would identify innovative ways to encourage more practical volunteering and participation across the Dunsmore Living Landscape including use of the health and wellbeing agenda and local skills agendas. You would be working with local communities, volunteers and Trust staff to support local groups to maintain and develop the Living Landscape and partners’ green space sites.

Location: Brandon Marsh Nature Centre, Coventry CV3 3GW and travel across Living Landscape area

Salary: £20,000 per annum (WWT Grade 2b)

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

Contract: Fixed Term Contract finishing Dec 31st 2020
