A fun day out for all ages!

A day dedicated to the wonders of Warwickshire's wildlife!

Enjoy lots of activites to get you wild from orchid and butterfly walks to bushcraft, games, crafts and local wildlife experts to chat to.

There'll be refreshments including heritage cakes and even free canal boat rides. Try your luck on the tombola or hook a duck with a difference plus buy your raffle tickets ready for the draw at the end of the day!

Wildlife walks on offer include an orchid tour, a mammal walk, a guided butterfly walk and a chance to look for the reptiles and amphibians found on the reserve! There are six different species of orchid to spot here and some rare butterflies are seen on the nature reserve.Wildlife experts will be on hand to answer your questions and mammals you might meet include harvest mice, bank voles and common shrews. There'll even be a walk especially for little legs with story telling!

Get creative decorating plant pots to take home and make a bird feeder for your garden. Little ones will love the face painting, wild balloons and crafts and refreshments include hot dogs and ice creams. Visit the stands of the local Warwickshire Mammal Group, Warwickshire Amphibian & Reptile Team and Help for Hedgehogs. 

Explore Taskers Meadow and Stockton Cutting with experts on hand to help you. 



Guided Walk times:

Mammals - 10.15am

Butterflies - 11am & 2pm

Little legs/Minibeast walk - 10.30am, 11.30am, 2.30pm & 3.30pm



Find your way to Wildfest:
Nelson's Wharf is off the A426 near Southam and 6 miles south of Rugby. It's almost opposite The Boat Inn. It is a very long drive from the A426 so do not worry if you think you have taken a wrong turn! The entrance gate is just off the A426 and there are blue Nelson’s Wharf signs, we will also put some of our own banners up so you can’t miss it. Map below shows where the entrance is. 

Parking:There is plenty of parking at Nelson’s Wharf.  There is a car park within the event area which will be for disabled only. There is a large car park less than 100m from the entrance and once that is full we will be parking people along the drive.
