Habitat Biodiversity Audit 20th Anniversary Video Presentations

From October 1995, the aim of the Habitat Biodiversity Audit was to survey the whole of the Warwickshire sub-region to provide up-to-date biodiversity information.

Since 1996, this project has computer-mapped every field and boundary for the whole of Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull to a national standard methodology. The data is held on a Geographical Information System, which provides high quality colour coded maps and linked site notes with a powerful tool for interpretation and statistical analysis.

Recently the information has been used innovatively to better understand the practical applications of ecological connectivity mapping, living landscapes initiatives and ecosystem services mapping.

Today the HBA continues to update and improve the habitat survey information against increasingly challenging times with pressure on individual partner budgets, the demand for new development and settlement growth throughout the region against the need to maintain valuable wildlife areas for everyone to enjoy.
