Operations Director

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000, with additional commission based on 1.5% of member value including Gift Aid.

We are looking for an experienced field manager with a background in face to face fundraising and/or sales.

Wildlife Fundraising (Central) Limited is a not for profit company, wholly owned by a partnership of 8 Wildlife Trusts. The company was formed in 2013 to provide face-to-face (F2F) membership recruitment services for the members of the company.

Wildlife Trust Members are vital as a key source of income and volunteers; and with over 150,000 members in our area of operation, they provide a powerful mandate for the Trusts to undertake their conservation work and to have significant local influence. Membership often provides the only stable, predictable source of income to the Trusts.

We are looking for an experienced field manager with a background in face to face fundraising and/or sales. The role will have an Oxfordshire office base/ home with travel across member Trust counties.

Key responsibilities

  • Build a successful team to deliver agreed membership recruitment and value targets for the Member Trusts
  • Performance manage Area Managers/Team Leaders, Recruiters and Venue Co-ordinators to deliver agreed membership recruitment targets in their areas
  • To deliver a high quality, effective service that responds appropriately to the needs of our clients
  • Ensure the successful recruitment and induction of new Recruiters as well as providing mentoring, on-going training and regular communication to Recruiters
  • Act as Client Manager for the member Wildlife Trusts who receive the company’s services – ensuring good quality of service provision and exchange of ideas and information
  • Undertake regular analysis of recruiter, venue and event performance statistics
  • To contribute to WFC’s strategic development to ensure long term financial stability and ensure we deliver value to our Member Trusts.
  • To monitor the relevant legal, regulatory, and good practice requirements and ensure staff understand and implement them.
  • To contribute to the annual budgeting process and manage budgets and expenditure in areas of responsibility.

Requirements
The successful candidate will have a strong track record as a manager, be reliable and focussed under pressure and have excellent communication skills. They will also have a proactive nature and be able to motivate their staff to deliver results. Hands on experience of face to face fundraising and a proven track record of personal results would be an advantage.

The role also requires a highly numerate candidate with good IT skills in order to provide accurate KPIs and financial reporting.

A commitment to the charity sector and an enthusiasm for wildlife and conservation is essential in order to fulfil the role.
