Nature Reserves team

Karl says: "My background is primarily in land management for conservation and community engagement. Having worked 'out in the field' for many years across a variety of habitats and landscapes, I have also worked closely with people to nurture and lead volunteers to make a difference in their local green spaces. Latterly leading a team of wonderful staff, delivering projects for nature’s recovery and enabling positive opportunities for volunteers across our 66 nature reserves ensuring they are rich in wildlife and welcoming and accessible for people is the thrust of my work."

Karl says: "I work for the Trust because not only does it allow me to be part of a movement that fights for nature, but I get to work with some of the most passionate and knowledgeable people who are dedicated to bringing about natures recovery.  The opportunity to work here enables me, in whatever I do, to make a difference for wildlife and people either today, tomorrow, next year or into the next century which is wholly unique.  There’s no other job I know of with such variety and I love being part of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust."

Nick says: "Our nature reserves are spread right across Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull. Our staff and volunteers work hard to maintain the sites for both wildlife and people. Through managing the habitats to be in great condition we can ensure that wildlife thrives, whether that’s damselflies or dormice. We also survey and monitor plants, animals, invertebrates and birds, helping us to understand how they are responding to our management. Whether its coppicing in our woodlands, planting reeds in the wetlands or mowing and raking our wildflower meadows we are always busy rain and shine."

Nick says: "Having grown up in the countryside and loving wildlife from a young age, I have always wanted to work in nature conservation. This job allows me to make a difference to the wildlife that uses our sites and also to the people that visit. Warwickshire Wildlife Trust has a great vision to deliver for nature in the region and I am privileged to be a part that work."
