Green Minds was a six month pilot project run by the Trust and funded through the Innovation and Development Fund.

The project provided nature-based activities in green spaces in and around Coventry specifically for carers of people with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Activities include walks, nature based arts and crafts, playing Pooh Sticks (because you’re never too old!) and quiet time plus picnics and the odd barbeque too.

The idea behind the project was that life as a carer is demanding and stressful and over the last 15 years more studies have shown us what we already knew – being out in green spaces, experiencing nature works as a powerful antidote to stress and promotes mental health and well being. So the aim of the project was to provide opportunities for carers to benefit from this free and simple way of relaxing and to discover local green spaces.
