Stories from 30 Days Wild

Stories from 30 Days Wild

#30DaysWild is our annual event where we ask you to take on wild activities throughout June. Getting out into nature can benefit your physical and mental health, and we hope last year's 30 Days Wild-ers are feeling these benefits now!

Last June over 90,000 households, schools, care homes and businesses signed up and an estimated 450,000 people took part nationwide. They went on wild walks, helped wildlife at home, and discovered the everyday wonders of nature.

30 Days Wild is back for 2025! Join us for a wild June and embrace nature like never before. You can find out more and sign up here.

Hear from some of last year's participants about their favourite experiences:

Sarah's 30 Days Wild

Sarah embraced the challenge with her family! Here are just a few of the wild and wonderful things they did:

  • Making bat boxes, and putting them up at home
  • Finding moths in the garden and identifying them
  • Recycling plastic bottles into bird feeders
  • Planting herb seeds and harvesting berries
  • Making a water station for bees.

They finished the month with a camping trip, listening to birds, splashing in streams and spotting bats in the evening.

Rachael's 30 Days Wild

Rachael and her family did lots to help wildlife:

  • They put a water dish on the ground with pebbles in for pollinators
  • Listened to birds in the garden and cloud watched
  • Spent a day with volunteers at a nature reserve
  • Found a knot grass caterpillar to add to their ‘garden list’
  • Went for a walk down the canal and spotted damselflies.
