Local landowners are invited to be part of the ‘Slow the Flow’ Natural Flood Management Project.

Warwickshire Wildlife Trust is offering hedge plants and trees to landowners within the Upper River Bourne Catchment area, for the ‘Slow the Flow’ Natural Flood Management Project in and around Fillongley.

The project is running until March 2021 to help reduce residents and businesses flooding in Fillongley and along the River Bourne by working with proven natural processes.

Natural Flood Management involves the alteration, restoration or use of landscape features to manage the sources and pathways of flood waters, often including the temporary storage or slowing of flows during periods of heavy rainfall.

If you're a landowner in the catchment, get in touch with tim.precious@wkwt.org.uk / 07464 486 277 to get involved and receive a free barn owl nest box for taking part.
