Warwickshire Wildlife Trust's GenWild Committee was formed from the Wilder Future for Warwickshire project and is a group of young adults, aged 18 – 30 years old, who live, work, or study in Coventry, Warwickshire, Solihull or the surrounding area.
We have a mission to engage young adults to protect the natural world with events, campaigns, and the development of strong partnerships with local wildlife groups, ecologists, and naturalists. We also provide training that will equip volunteers with the skills needed to engage in conservation and give young adults a voice to share their environmental hopes and concerns.

Meet the GenWild Committee!
Sophina (she/her) – Secretary
As part of the GenWild Committee, I’m keen to work with and learn from local communities to inspire and empower more young people to take action for nature in their local communities and believe it should be accessible to all. I find so much comfort in the natural world and I’m enthusiastic about connecting other young people to the benefits of nature and the aims of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.
Rhiann (she/her) – Reserves Ambassador
I hope through the GenWild Committee I can help provide opportunities for young people to build knowledge and skill they can use to act for nature, through supporting others to get involved with wildlife recording and learn about the importance of wildlife data, as well as practical skills to restore habitats needed for nature's recovery.
Daisy (she/her) – Reserves Conservationist
With a background in entomology and ecology, I’m passionate about protecting nature, restoring habitats, and convincing people that bugs aren’t actually terrifying. But conservation isn’t just about today, it's about the future. The actions we take now will shape the planet for generations to come, and I'm here to help make that message loud and clear! If you see me around, come say hi – I'm always up for a chat about nature! Stay wild!
Abigail (she/her) - Fundraising Ambassador
I joined the GenWild Committee because young adults are often excluded from environmental work, with the vast majority of campaigns involved in engaging children or older adults. I want to make sure that all young adults can access nature, environment adjacent careers, and relevant opportunities, alongside helping them to reap the benefits of nature such as wellbeing support, by holding fundraisers to make ideas achievable. I am especially passionate about invertebrate conservation.
Megan (she/her) - Communications Ambassador
I joined the GenWild Committee because I wanted to take real action to protect the wildlife and nature around Warwickshire, and to share my knowledge and passion for the environment with the community. I am really looking forward to continuing to build our social media presence to engage young adults with wildlife and nature conservation.
Emily (she/her) - Campaigns Ambassador
I show my appreciation for nature though writing, having been the Warwickshire Young Poet Laureate 2023 and hosting nature writing workshops. I have also become very passionate about engaging other young people with nature, because it has had such a positive effect on me. Equally, I think it is vital to reach out to young people to inspire them to take action for the future of nature and the planet. In my role as Campaigns Ambassador for the GenWild Committee, I aim to provide more opportunities for young people to take action for nature and get involved with the Trust’s campaigns.
Scarlet (she/her) - Events Coordinator
I will be taking on the role of Events Coordinator within the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust GenWild Committee this year! I really enjoy being out in nature and amongst wildlife, in my spare time you can often find me taking long walks along my local canal and exploring green spaces. I’m also a keen crocheter and love a bit of crafting, so keep. An eye out for some craft-themed events from the Committee this year!
Samaaha (she/her) - Volunteer Coordinator
Throughout my life, I have experienced many changes in environments that have been detrimental and beneficial to me, so I understand the importance of nature and its preservation. I hope by being a volunteer that I can encourage those from similarly disadvantaged backgrounds to engage and connect with nature. The world as we know it today faces many challenges, but particularly as youth, we hold power collectively for a better future.
