Location:
Help deliver environmental education and play activities onsite, supporting the Education team at Brandon Marsh.

Role title: Education Volunteer. 

Purpose of your role: As an Education volunteer you will help deliver environmental education and play activities onsite, supporting the Education team at Brandon Marsh Nature Centre in Coventry, CV3 3GW and/or at the Parkridge Centre in Solihull, B91 3HW.

Tasks you will be involved with: 

Our Education team require volunteers to help support and  deliver fun and exciting environmental activities which could include supporting school visits (5-18 years), Nature Tots (2-5 years), after school clubs, holiday workshops and our monthly Saturday Nature Clubs (5 years +). 

Activities range from pond dipping, mini beast hunting and bird watching to nature crafts and art to bushcraft and toasting marshmallows over a fire.

Skills and abilities required: 

· Enjoy working with children and young people, with previous experience desirable.

· Good communication skills with the ability to encourage all ages to engage.

· Support with set up and close down of activities.

· Ability to work as part of a team.

· Enthusiasm for both wildlife and conservation.

· References will be sought.

· Enhanced disclosure check (DBS) will be required - to be arranged by WKWT at no cost to the volunteer.

You will be based at: Brandon Marsh Nature Centre, Coventry CV3 3GW and/or The Parkridge Centre, Solihull B91 3HW

Days and time we would like you to be available: Flexible, we have opportunities across term time, school holidays and throughout the week - including occasional Saturdays.
