Anne and Bill's shared love of wildlife lives on

When thinking about writing their will, Anne and Bill wanted to give back to charities that had played an important part in their life.

Bill, a successful executive at The General Post Office, met Anne, an energetic PE teacher, through their shared love of the outdoors. Bill was passionate about wildlife and taught his children the names of birds and trees, inspiring in them a love of nature. Anne, who in later life became partially sighted, still managed to enjoy nature through her love of bird song and could identify any bird by their call. Together they travelled the world, but always came back to Warwickshire.

Happiest when heading out with a pair of binoculars and a packed lunch, Anne and Bill particularly loved Brandon Marsh, spending birthdays and anniversaries at the reserve, exploring minibeast habitats with their grandchildren, or simply enjoying the bluebells. Daffodils were also one of Anne’s favourites.

When thinking about writing their will, Anne and Bill wanted to give back to charities that had played an important part in their life. They chose to leave a gift to Warwickshire Wildlife Trust in gratitude for the years of happy memories, so other people could connect with nature just as they did.

Bill and Anne are sadly no longer with us; their story was kindly shared by their daughter Rose. Warwickshire Wildlife Trust would like to thank Anne and Bill for choosing to support the Trust, both as members for over 40 years and for the gift left in their will. Their legacy will live on for future generations to enjoy, just as they wanted.
