Welcome to Lee, our Wilder Community Organiser

I grew up in Birmingham loving urban wildlife, particularly birds. House sparrows and skylarks were the soundtrack to my early life.

After I left school, I studied at art college and began playing in bands. Music became a huge part of my work and I worked as a youth worker with my music and also as a community musician, and have worked with many organisations such as Sense, Mencap, West Midlands Arts, CBSO, Walsall College, Walsall Youth Arts and Trident Housing Association in Birmingham.

In 2000, I made a change of direction from music to the environment sector when I joined the RSPB as Environmental Youth Worker. I’ve also worked for the Keep Britain Tidy campaign and then joined Warwickshire Wildlife Trust as a Community Organiser in 2023.

I now apply a community organising approach to nature and wildlife and it has proved a very enjoyable new challenge. Currently, I work hyper-locally in Attleborough and Hill Top in Nuneaton.
