About the event

Come along to the Wild for Water launch event in The Barn at Houlton, Rugby to help us make a splash for cleaner water!

The launch event will be filled with free, fun, family-friendly activities:

  • Get stuck in creating a raindrop suncatcher
  • Paint a beautiful water-themed design onto a rock
  • Learn about the wonderful wildlife you may see in and around your local waterways
  • Visit the red post box down the street to see a spectacular handmade topper by Houlton's WI
  • Pledge to do one of our 5 refreshing actions you can take for water
  • Enjoy a walk along the nearby Newt Trail and explore Houlton's nature corridors
  • And more!

Most activities will be hosted inside of the Barn and, with weather permitting, we will have a gazebo outside that will be dog-friendly so you can interact with the event as you're out and about with your 4-legged friend.

What is Wild for Water?

Wild for Water is a campaign about water pollution and water quality across Warwickshire, Coventry, and Solihull.

From April 2025 to April 2026, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust will be hosting a variety of events, talks, activities, volunteer opportunities, and much more to help illustrate the importance of clean water for both people and wildlife.

"We want to make a splash for clean water. To celebrate everything that it gives to us, and to highlight the abundance of wildlife that rely on our streams, lakes and rivers for their homes and survival."
