Community open day success

We hosted a summer open day at the start of the month to launch the project and welcome nearly 80 people keen to get involved and learn more about our plans for the reserve.

At our successful event we welcomed local people and made animal masks, bird boxes, hunted for bugs and joined guided walks around the reserve.

Since taking on the management of Bishop's Hill Nature Reserve in Bishop's Itchington, we have now successfully secured £4K from the Tesco's Bags of Help scheme which will go towards habitat improvements, engagement events for the whole community and practical taster sessions to allow local people to get involved in the management of this special place.

We will be hosting fortnightly practical taster sessions for people wanting to actively involved on the reserve from October - March. We're inviting local people to come and join in by contacting us on volunteer@wkwt.org.uk to find out more.
